Confluence – The Heavens – A Splinter of Jade – Leaving – Forces – Options – Campaigning – A Method of Logic, a story (The following is a work of satire. The people and events depicted, including those based on real people and events, are all entirely fictional.)
Something I should mention about Campaigning, above: I’m not particularly troubled by property damage or by the spontaneous removal of an offensive statue, but I share Paul Goodman’s distrust of the later New Left, and I have to confess that so many of my thoughts about them are influenced by my feelings about white Baby Boomers in general, about what they did to the legacy of the Civil Rights movement in the ‘80s and ‘90s (as both Republicans and New Democrats), a topic I expand upon in later chapters.
The protagonist of A Method of Logic is a kind of Wittgenstein (and some Benjamin and Turing)/Doctor Strange mash-up. It’s the origin story of a character I hope will play a larger role in this fictional universe.
