Fragmentation – A Swamp – and Idyll, a story, Part Four of Five (The following is a work of satire. The people and events depicted, including those based on real people and events, are all entirely fictional.)

The first volume of Notes for a Mythology will be finishing up in August; you can read everything so far here. All the previous installments of Idyll are available here.

*The Locas stories by Jaime Hernandez from Love and Rockets have become a major influence on me, something that will probably become more apparent shortly. Here Xaime talks with Katie Skelly, a brilliant cartoonist in her own right, about the latest installment of a saga that, all together, comes closer than anything I can think of to being whatever is meant by The Great American Novel.

*Pete Toms has another great and very short new comic.

*Elytron Frass’ graphically themed guest editorship at Burning House Press featured amazing contributions from Christina Tudor-Sideri, Dov Nelkin, S Cearley, and John Trefry, among others.

*Joshua Rothes is starting a new press and print project at Sublunary Editions, and I’m already looking forward to his always beautiful design work.
