For years Roger had gotten up early, typically before sunrise, just to give himself extra time to write. That way, even if he only managed to get out a few sentences before class, and even if those few were ultimately edited out of existence, he could still feel as if he’d accomplished something for the day, or had at the very least kept the ball rolling, which could often be quite a bit more than half the battle…
